GS1 Algeria / Global standards for barcoding, item codification, and supply chain management

Established in 1994 by public authorities (the Ministry of Commerce) under the name EAN Algerie, the organization officially transitioned into GS1 Algeria in 2007. Operating as a non-profit association, it is the sole official body authorized to issue unique global barcode numbers (GTINs) to businesses and economic operators in Algeria. As a member of the global GS1 network spanning over 117 countries, GS1 Algeria provides localized and international standard frameworks that enable businesses of all sizes to uniquely identify, seamlessly capture, and efficiently share product and supply chain information, helping them adhere to rigorous statutory, regulatory, and market compliance demands.
